ABOUT THE SHOW

Welcome to Miner Dan.

Miner Dan is an original animated show created for children aged 3 to 6 and their families. Friendly characters, big machines, songs and colourful adventures bring the fictional world of Copper Creek to life.

Good friends

The crew help each other, share ideas and learn that asking for a hand is part of working together.

Curious minds

Rocks, shapes and machines give families plenty to notice, wonder about and discuss.

Time together

Watch alongside your child when you can. Pause for a question, enjoy a song or talk about a favourite moment afterwards.

WATCH AND TALK TOGETHER

Big questions for little thinkers.

After Hugo’s First Big Day, try one of these. There is no need to turn it into a quiz. Let your child lead the conversation.

  1. 1

    Who helped Hugo?

What did his friends do when he needed a helping hand?

  2. 2

    What would you try?

If something felt difficult, who could you ask to help?

  3. 3

    What did you notice?

Choose a machine, a sound or a favourite moment and talk about it together.

BEING PRESENT TOGETHER

A little time. Just you and them.

You do not need a big outing or a perfect plan. Choose a small moment to give your child your attention, follow their curiosity and enjoy being together. A few minutes is a lovely place to start.

Make a little space

When you can, put your phone aside, sit alongside your child and ask, “What shall we do together?” A drawing, a story or a chat over a snack is enough.

Let them lead

Let your child choose the colours, invent the story or show you how their game works. Try “Tell me about it” rather than looking for a right answer.

Notice together

Join in with what catches their eye. “I wonder why…” can open a conversation. You do not have to know every answer; you can wonder together.

Some days are busy or messy, and that is okay. Pick what fits your family. This is about enjoying each other’s company, with no checklist to finish.

TRY IT TOGETHER

Small adventures, shared.

Pick one idea and see where it takes you. These activities are ready to try with things you may already have at home.

Go on a shape hunt

Take turns spotting circles, rectangles and triangles around the room. Which shapes could make a wheel, a window or a roof?

Start with: “Can you find a shape for Hugo’s wheel?”

Build a little bridge

Use large building blocks and a piece of card to make a bridge for an age appropriate toy. Let your child choose a design, then try it together.

Start with: “What could we change if it wobbles?”

Draw your own Copper Creek

Share a sheet of paper and crayons. Take turns adding a place, a machine or a character. Let your child tell you who lives there and what happens next.

Start with: “Where shall our adventure begin?”

For another shared adventure, explore Rock Detectives with Maya. You can also download free colouring, counting and shape activities to try together.

A NOTE FOR FAMILIES

Imaginary adventures. Real care.

Copper Creek is a fictional world. Real mines and machinery are places for trained, authorised people. Enjoy exploring through the show, pictures and supervised activities rather than entering work sites or approaching machinery.

Choose materials suitable for your child’s age. An adult should guide hands on activities, and small objects should stay out of mouths.

BEHIND THE SHOW

How Miner Dan is made.

Miner Dan is developed with human creative direction and review, using AI tools to help produce artwork, animation, voices and music. The character voices are AI generated. We continue refining the show as Copper Creek grows.
